Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

The Michigan State University College of Nursing is seeking applications for a part-time Nurse Planner. The Nurse Planner will work on and with the evaluation of continuing nursing professional development activities, in alignment with CON practices and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accreditation guidelines.

Duties include: Serve as a Nurse Planner (NP) as described by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for continuing nursing professional development; evaluate current program offerings for accreditation transfer; Ensure alignment of processes and activities with the Michigan State University College of Nursing's overall strategic and excellence plan and accreditation standards. Working hours are flexible, along with a hybrid and/or remote work schedule. 

Desired Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree

Unrestricted RN license (or eligible) in Michigan

Experience with educational evaluation that may include professional development, organizational/ hospital educator, or academic nursing education roles, such as clinical, laboratory, simulation, and/or didactic areas

Experience with Microsoft Office

Must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills Must be able to work independently 

Desired qualifications include:

NPD Specialist (graduate degree and current NPD certification)

Experience with accreditation standards and processes

MSN, Master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing or a related area
