Position Summary
The successful candidate will conduct animal studies focused on the effects of heat stress on muscle and adipose tissue biology in cattle. The individual will be expected to operate independently in managing a laboratory setting, while mentoring students and collaborating with colleagues. Strong laboratory skills in cell culture, transcriptomic and proteomic analyses, PCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry are required.

Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for this position include a Ph.D. in Animal Science, Physiology, or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated experience in cattle research. Candidates must have expertise in muscle and adipose tissue biopsy techniques, feeding trials, and animal cell culture. In addition, applicants should possess laboratory experience with transcriptomics, proteomics, and molecular biology approaches such as PCR.
Desired Qualifications
Desired qualifications include the ability to manage and oversee a research laboratory, supervise graduate and undergraduate students, and contribute to scientific writing through manuscripts and grant proposals. Experience with advanced laboratory techniques such as western blotting and immunohistochemistry is also strongly preferred.
