Position Summary

There are 6 positions open, one at each of these different locations: Bay College in Escanaba, MI., Delta College in University Center, MI., Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, MI., Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, MI., Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, MI., and Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, MI. 

Instructional responsibilities include teaching PLP 105L - Fundamentals of Applied Plant Pathology Lab (1 credit) for the Institute of Agricultural Technology for spring semester. The course will be delivered at one of the above locations, The course dates are January 12, 2026 - April 26, 2026. Class meets weekly, face to face for 1 hour and 50 minutes. This position is planned to reoccur every other spring semester in the even years.

Course description:

Identification of disease signs and symptoms in major agronomic and horticulture plants. Disease management techniques.

Course Objectives:

  1. Become familiar with signs and symptoms of plant pathogens and diseases
  2. Understand the life cycles of plant pathogens
  3. Learn symptoms of common diseases present in Michigan
  4. Learn basic concepts of disease management

Position is planned to recur every Spring Semester

Required Degree

Bachelors -Plant Pathology or related field

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in plant pathology or related field. 

Experience in development and assessment of learning outcomes

Undergraduate teaching experience and a passion for teaching
