Position Summary

An open position of research specialist in Dr. Cheri Deng’s lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Michigan State University, is available for a candidate with experience and expertise in the area of biomedical ultrasound and stem cell applications. In particular, experiences in mechanobiological studies, stem cell differentiation, development of NAMs to generate various organoids and tissue constructs or models from hPSCs are required. The ability of integrate with AI methodologies is highly desired. 

The research specialist will work with the PI to develop NAMs including various organoids and tissue constructs from hPSCs for neurodevelopment and toxicity screening. The candidate is expected to work in a multidisciplinary team, gain new skills, and make progress in multiple projects.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Biomedical engineering, stem cells, molecular and cell biology techniques

Minimum Requirements

PhD in Biomedical Engineering or closely related field, 3-5 years of post doc experience beyond PhD study. 

Desired Qualifications

Strong analytical and hands-on experience in wet lab experiments, microscopic imaging modalities, and oral and written skills
