Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This a temporary or on-call position. Provides a wide variety of consulting services including conference, seminar or workshop design/presentation; operations review and analysis; project design, completion, coordination or management; or related consulting services. Consultants paid on grant funds must be paid on an hourly or daily basis, with a minimum wage of $12.00 per hour. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

POSITION: BRAND PROTECTION CASE STUDY CONSULTANT

The A-CAPP Center at MSU is looking for 1-3 subject matter experts with experience in brand protection or anti-counterfeiting efforts to assist with the creation of content for its Professional Certificate in Brand Protection course offerings.

The A-CAPP Center Brand Protection Professional Certificate was launched in 2016 and all of the content was comprehensively updated in 2025 into 18 foundation level courses and are offered individually or all 18 as a Professional Certificate in Foundations of Brand Protection. The A-CAPP Center is currently under phase II of our offering updates, which consist of creating “applied” versions of the existing foundations courses. 

Specific work of the BP Case-study Consultant would be to assist with creation of sixteen case-study based short courses, or “applied”, including  a comprehensive review of drafted case studies, ensuing inclusion of a variety of perspectives from within the field of brand protection (brands, law enforcement, government, law firms, tech and service providers, investigators, platforms or other intermediaries),and/ or to contribute industry-specific nuance (i.e. pharmaceuticals, toys, cosmetics, consumer goods, automotive, electronics, etc.) to the case-study content.

 

This is a remote on-call temporary position with 5-10 hours per week through early 2026 (March) dependent on project needs.

Desired Qualifications

Requirements: Minimum of 5 years work experience in brand protection in industry.


Preferred Experience: Experience in education and training curriculum development or communications background
