Position Summary
The Platform Services teams provide Application Engineering (OpenShift, server management etc.), Messaging and Collaboration (Active Directory, Microsoft 365 products etc.), Database Administration (Oracle Exadata, SQL Server etc.), and Identity Management services (Okta, SailPoint etc.) for MSU.
The Platform Services Manager pro vides strategic direction and leadership for the Platform Services teams and is responsible for the oversight of the key supported platforms, related projects, operations, and initiatives. The supervisors of the Application Engineering, Messaging and Collaboration, Database Administration, and Identity Management teams will report to this position. This position will manage and coordinate the work of supervisors of platform teams that report up through this area and provides guidance for key initiatives in consultation with senior leadership in Enterprise Services. This position will work closely and collaboratively with their team s, supervisors, and senior leadership of Enterprise Services, as well as units across campus to provide cross-functional solutions to complex platform use cases. They will work in a dynamic and high intensity environment. They will lead resolution of large enterprise outages (Major Incidents) related to the areas they support and provide support t o other areas across IT as needed.
This position will be primarily hybrid with the expectation to come onsite a minimum of 2 days per week.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program with coursework in an information technology field or area related to the duties to be performed; Over 8 years of increasing responsibility in supporting platforms and related deployments. Proven experience in leading IT teams.
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication; Broad platform ser vices knowledge in database, identity, collaboration, and application engineering platforms. Leadership experience in IT teams. Background in higher ed data and university systems. Skilled at managing system operations, production environments, multiple projects, priorities, and dead lines. Familiarity with Okta, SailPoint, Office 365 tooling, Exadata, Oracle RAC, OpenShift, VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker. Strong leadership skills.
