Position Summary
The scholar will lead research related to the testing of advanced RF devices, circuits and subsystems for radiation tolerance.
Responsibilities include:
- lab instrumentation
- electronics assembly and integration
- analysis of radiation conditions for wide band gap semiconductor testing
- requires in-person testing attendance at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams and the placement of instrumentation

Required Degree
Doctorate -Electrical and Computer Engineering
Minimum Requirements
The minimum qualifications are a PhD in electrical engineering with experimental experience in RF testing, RF device and circuit integration, and a high level of competence in RF analysis software tools such as ADS and HFSS.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with digital control interfacing is desired but not required.

Department Statement
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has strong interdisciplinary research and educational programs on a foundation of core electrical and computer engineering disciplines and provides first-class education while engaging in research at the frontiers of knowledge. The Department has 44 faculty members, including 14 IEEE Fellows, 14 NSF CAREER, 3 DARPA YFA, one AFOSR YIP awardee, and four University Distinguished Faculty members. The Department has strong research programs in all major areas of electrical and computer engineering, with annual research expenditures of over $16 million. Faculty in the Department are leading several federal and industry-supported centers including the Fraunhofer USA Center Midwest (CMW) for Coatings and Diamond Technologies. The Department has accredited B.S. degree programs in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.
