Position Summary

A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Rhee to investigate the
molecular mechanisms underlying seed dormancy in Arabidopsis thaliana. The successful candidate will combine seed physiology, genetics, and transgenic approaches to dissect gene function and regulatory interactions controlling germination decisions. This project provides an opportunity to uncover fundamental principles governing how metabolic and nutrient-related signals modulate developmental transitions in plants.


Key Responsibilities:


Applying plant molecular biology and genetics approaches to investigate the molecular
mechanisms underlying germination and seed dormancy.


Leading research independently, preparing publications, and presenting research in
scientific meetings.


Working closely with collaborators and lab members.

Required Degree

Doctorate -molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, plant biology, and bioengineering.

Minimum Requirements

1. PhD or equivalent in any of the following areas: molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, plant biology, and bioengineering.


2. A track record of research productivity and independence.


3. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various stakeholders and
collaborators.


4. Ability to organize and pay close attention to detail.
