Position Summary
Provides coordination of pre-award research administration for the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources through the AgBioResearch Office of Research Support (ABR.ORS). Prepares and reviews domestic and international research grant budgets, proposals and applications for federal, state, industry and other sponsoring agencies. Serves as liaison with Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to ensure college-wide compliance with institutional policies and procedures. Assists with the development and implementation of ABR.ORS policies and procedures and provides proactive outreach to units to ensure the highest level of support for CANR faculty in developing high quality, competitive grant proposals.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business administration, Finance, or a research-related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research administration including the area of pre or post award processes, or related field such as regulatory administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This job requires Essentials of Research Administration at MSU Certificate series or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in working with complex proposals for research projects and administering federal and state agency policies and research administration, preferably in an academic environment; demonstrates strong communication skills to help administer the granting processes while working with a diverse group of individuals on and off campus and multiple granting agencies; ability to work independently, problem solve, detailed oriented and multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment.
