Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

This position will provide administrative support to the Program Director and Online Programs, with some tasks extending to the broader Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. We are seeking a professional, adaptable, detail-oriented employee with superior writing and communication skills to complete administrative and communication tasks to support program growth. A background in communications and/or marketing would thrive in this position. An interest in pharmacology and toxicology/STEM communication is preferred but not required. The position will be in-person, but a hybrid model may be available after an initial training and probationary period. The successful candidate must:

  • have working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Teams)
  • have excellent writing skills, creativity, and attention to detail
  • have working knowledge of social media platforms
  • have the ability to multitask with accuracy, follow directions, follow through on tasks, and meet deadlines

Potential job tasks include: 

  1. Creating social media assets and scheduling social media posts for the online graduate programs and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
  2. Administrative tasks for online graduate programs, including database and records management
  3. Orientation site and program material updates for the online graduate programs
  4. Student and alumni survey management (familiarity with Qualtrics Survey Tool desired)
  5. Online event support (webinar, virtual community events, etc.)
  6. Bi-Annual Program Newsletter management – developing content, newsletter compilation, etc.

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Qualtrics Survey Tool
  • Creative design skills and/or interest in learning
  • Complete assigned tasks without a high level of supervision
  • Strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team; highly self-motivated
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, quick learner, and dependable
