Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is an on-call position. Provides food service, custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor or other main support on an on-call basis.

Unit Position Summary

This position will assist with vermicompost operations, recycling education, and surplus sales outreach. Duties include adding organic compound to wedges, turning the organic waste with a shovel, screening cured compost, bagging compost for sale, engaging with the public regarding recycling at tabling events, and marketing hard-to-sell items. 

Desired Qualifications

Work experience in recycling or sustainability-related field or knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired through one year of college in environmental science or sustainability. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. 

Must possess a valid driver's license. 

Ability to pass a university criminal background check.

Summary of Physical Demands

Duties associated with this position involve carrying, pushing, pulling, loading, and lifting materials, tools, and equipment. Frequent lifting of 25 pounds is required.
