Nursing Systems Architect
Position Summary
The College of Nursing seeks a Nursing Systems Architect who will have responsibility to design, implement, analyze, interpret, and validate data reports to make recommendations to the administration on short- and long-term planning and decision-making. Additional duties include being responsible to develop, maintain, manage, and use databases composed of a variety of data types; engage in data cleaning and processing; develop metadata and implement data analysis, data collection systems, and other strategies to increase statistical efficiency and data quality and implement data visualizations to assist with the dissemination of knowledge.
This role will also assist with the development of inclusive long- and short-range strategic plans to track and trend college educational, research, and clinical performance on several different metrics while being able to provide integration of new and existing systems and identify software, hardware, or other equipment problems and solutions. The selected candidate must apply a high degree of competence, knowledge, cultural awareness, and creativity to resolving major systems-level problems and generate innovative technology-driven solutions as well as collaborate with other college units in the selection and set-up of applications suitable to their needs and assigned workflow. Participate with the information technology team to empower equitable interventions, analysis, recommendation, preparation, and implementation of hardware, operating systems, and networks is required. Adherence to project implementation and reporting deadlines is also a must.
Furthermore, this position will use queries for data retrieval and compilation and create data reports and visualizations with tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Excel; employ coding skills to automate processes and clean data, while also constructing data pipelines to ensure consistent data reporting; interact with IT support for consulting on security measures concerning data governed by FERPA and university regulations, ensuring compliance and safeguarding sensitive information and interact with various stakeholders within the college to gather understanding and buy-in for project needs and deliver results in a secure manner.
Remote work position with the expectation to be on site at select times during the year.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as a Master's in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related IT field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in data management and analysis or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related IT field + 1 year of post-bachelor degree experience in data management and analysis, including the use of: an Oracle database student information system, Power BI, Cognos, and Tableau
