Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a project pay position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions.

Unit Position Summary

A-CAPP seeks an experienced detail-oriented Production Editor to provide immediate editorial and publication support across reports, newsletters, website content, and/or digital communications. This role will focus on preparing materials for publication by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and formatting integrity across institutional outputs.

As an interdisciplinary academic center operating at the intersection of law, business, technology, and government, A-CAPP produces public-facing work for audiences across industry, academia, policy, and government. The Production Editor will provide critical short-term support to help ensure timely, polished, and publication-ready deliverables.

This is a temporary, project-based role designed to address an urgent editorial and production need.  Future work may be available.

Project Details:

  • Wrap up the in-progress layout and production of a current 50 page research report in Canva using appropriate templates and or standards.
  • Format and standardize the report's dissemination aids, such as follow up summaries; social media posting; blurb for newsletter; PowerPoint summaries of the research using Canva
  • Ensure consistency in margins, spacing, typography, headings, and document hierarchy

  • Prepare clean, reviewed, publication-ready files for distribution

Compensation will be $250.00 and paid at the conclusion of the project work, which must be completed within 12 calendar days. 

Desired Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • BA degree in a relevant area

  • Professional copyediting, proofreading, or production editing experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail and consistency

  • Strong command of grammar, usage, punctuation, and editorial conventions

  • Experience reviewing and reconciling content across multiple formats (Word, web, PDF, Canva)

  • Experience formatting professional reports or publications in Canva or similar tools; sticking to a consistent branding look

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently under tight timelines

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience supporting academic, policy, or research publications

  • Familiarity with citation systems and structured reports

  • Experience supporting interdisciplinary or professional-facing content
