Position Summary
This position will be working with existing research staff and graduate students to research, develop, implement, and test novel microwave antenna designs for applied electromagnetics applications.
Primary responsibilities in this role include
- Lead development and implementation of microwave antennas with composite material and in PCB technology
- Perform fabrication and measurements of antennas and microwave devices
Additional responsibilities include
- Collaborating with group members (graduate students, postdocs and faculty members) on antenna designs
- Presenting research results to sponsors

Required Degree
Doctorate -Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
Minimum Requirements
- Experience with HFSS, CST
- Numerical EM modeling with Matlab or equivalent software
- Experience with lab equipment such as VNA, signal generators and testing of radiating devices in anechoic chambers

Summary of Physical Demands
Applicant will be required to perform basic electrical laboratory work including lifting heavy objects (<50 lbs) and performing electrical fabrication using electrical soldering iron, hot air tools, and solvents such as isopropyl alcohol for surface cleaning.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has strong interdisciplinary research and educational programs on a foundation of core electrical and computer engineering disciplines and provides first-class education while engaging in research at the frontiers of knowledge. The Department has 44 faculty members, including 14 IEEE Fellows, 14 NSF CAREER, 3 DARPA YFA, one AFOSR YIP awardee, and four University Distinguished Faculty members. The Department has strong research programs in all major areas of electrical and computer engineering, with annual research expenditures of over $16 million. Faculty in the Department are leading several federal and industry-supported centers including the Fraunhofer USA Center Midwest (CMW) for Coatings and Diamond Technologies. The Department has accredited B.S. degree programs in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. The current enrollment is approximately 200 full-time graduate students and over 900 undergraduate students.
