Position Summary

Design and lead the development of printed and digital publications, marketing campaigns, and promotional materials for the Division of Student Affairs. Collaborate with communicators, writers, web staff, and campus partners to develop visual solutions that advance divisional priorities and engage diverse audiences. Provide strategic consultation to clients on design, branding, accessibility, and marketing approaches to achieve desired outcomes. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, establish production timelines, and ensure deliverables meet quality, accessibility, and brand standards.

Serve as a senior design resource for the division by providing creative direction, reviewing and approving design work, and recommending effective visual communication strategies. Supervise and mentor student designers, assigning work, providing feedback, and supporting professional development. Participate in production planning, vendor coordination, and project prioritization to ensure efficient and high-quality execution of communications projects.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Commercial Art, Graphic Design or a related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in commercial or graphic art including marketing and supervision, print production, graphic techniques and procedures, computer graphics, web page design software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative concepts and translate strategic goals into effective visual communications.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or training student employees, interns, or junior designers.
  • Strong understanding of brand standards and experience maintaining visual consistency across multiple communications channels.
  • Experience designing for both print and digital environments, including web, email, social media, presentations, and environmental graphics.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, user-centered design principles, and inclusive communication practices.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client consultation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Portfolio demonstrates excellence in typography, layout, visual storytelling, brand application, and information design across a variety of mediums.
