Position Summary

The Curriculum Assistant will oversee, plan, develop, upload and maintain educational materials needed by faculty for laboratory and lecture demonstrations for the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position also assists with exam preparation and maintaining computerized data files for exam questions.

Core Responsibilities

Organize, maintain, and update course materials and grades across multiple educational technologies and learning management systems, including Desire2Learn (D2L), Brightspace, iClicker, ExamSoft/Examplify, and Medtrics. Support faculty in preparing and organizing course content, maintaining consistency across educational platforms, and performing quality-control reviews to ensure course materials are accurate, accessible, and available to students according to established timelines. 

Assist Exams Office faculty and staff with the development and administration of assessments in ExamSoft/Examplify. Build and upload examinations; maintain and revise computerized test banks; and support established procedures. Assist with examination administration with IT support. Provide training and technical assistance to faculty and staff in the use of ExamSoft and related assessment technologies. 

Communicate professionally and effectively with faculty, students, and staff regarding course activities, schedules, deadlines, assessments, and instructional needs. Prepare materials for course and faculty meetings; provide scheduling and calendar support; assist with course-related communications; maintain records and documentation; and support other administrative activities associated with delivery of the DVM curriculum. 

Coordinate with faculty and staff to ensure instructional spaces and materials are prepared appropriately and support instructional activities, including procurement and organization of materials, and classroom setup and take-down. 

Participate in professional development related to educational technology, assessment, curriculum support, and university systems. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program (BS preferred) in Health Education, Professional Education, Science Education, or Curriculum Design; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience and knowledge of curriculum in the area of employment; word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

Desired Qualifications

Experience with D2L, iClicker, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Pro Suite, and Examsoft; experience in developing educational techniques such as audiovisual presentation and computerization; demonstrated excellence in communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with varied constituents in a timely and professional manner; demonstrated problem solving, teamwork and adaptability to change, focus on service, and continuous learning for self-improvement. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, details, and prioritize work to meet deadlines and learn new systems quickly.
