Position Summary

The College at Brockport is seeking applicants for anticipated part-time adjunct faculty openings in the department of Women & Gender Studies.

 

Position Description

The department typically hires adjunct faculty to teach classroom-based, hybrid, and on-line courses for the subject areas/courses listed below, but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the department.

Illustrative needs or job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Teach introductory and intermediate  level Women and Gender Studies courses such as WMS 101, Introduction to Women and Gender Studies,  and WMS 271, Gender, Race, and Class  as most common.

  • Be available before and/or after class for at least one hour per week, per course, or otherwise schedule equivalent office hour coverage.

  • Participate in department and/or college assessment activities as connected to courses taught. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Women & Gender Studies or a related field from an accredited US Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university or an appropriate level of experience commensurate with the adjunct lecturer responsibilities. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Women & Gender Studies or a related field from an accredited US Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • Significant teaching experience.
