Job Summary: SUNY Brockport invites applications for current and anticipated openings for Admissions Advisors. Successful candidates will support recruitment, admissions application processing, interviewing and general advisement activities. The academic advisor works with current and prospective students to facilitate their success and persistence to complete their degree requirements through one-on-one and group advising, coaching, mentoring and referrals.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
• Knowledge of higher education academic policy, program requirements, and advising which can be demonstrated through part-time or full-time work experience, education, or clearly articulated complimentary experiences.
• Experience working with a management information system.
• Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Experience and proficiency working with SCT Banner, DARS, DegreeWorks or another degree audit system.
• Experience working in academic advisement or a related area.
• Understanding and experience working with federal and state regulations for financial aid.
• Experience working with Starfish or similar retention software tool.

Work Schedule: 37.5/week
