Job Summary: |
The SUNY Brockport athletic department is comprised of 24 sports and is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Sports Information Director. The Assistant Sports Information Director plays a vital role in promoting and enhancing the visibility of SUNY Brockport’s 24 varsity athletic programs. This position assists in the execution of digital content creation, game-day operations, and overall storytelling to engage fans, recruits, alumni, and the campus community. The Assistant Sport Information Director will contribute to the department’s social media, website, and statistical operations while ensuring consistent branding and messaging in alignment with the College’s mission and NCAA and Empire 8 guidelines.
The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications reports directly to the Director of Athletic Communications and is responsible for all aspects of publicizing the 24 intercollegiate athletic programs at Brockport. The position will assist in developing and coordinating a comprehensive and integrated marketing communications program including media and public relations, publications, advertising, promotional items, signage, Web site, social media, and e-communications to help achieve the goals of the university’s athletic program. The successful incumbent will ensure that information about Brockport's athletics program is available to the public in a timely and effective manner by developing and coordinating a comprehensive program of sports coverage which focuses on both the competitive and non-competitive activities and includes information on student-athletes and teams. |
Minimum Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, sports management, or a related field.
- Experience in athletic communications, sports information, or media relations (collegiate or professional level preferred).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign) and social media platforms.
- Experience with statistical software such as StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats, or PrestoStats.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the athletic schedule.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with website management using Sidearm Sports or similar CMS.
- Familiarity with live video production and broadcasting platforms.
- Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations related to athletic communications.

Salary and Benefits: |
The minimum salary for this position is $55,151.
