Job Summary: The Assistant Director for the Joey Jackson Intercultural Center is responsible for the day-to-day operations of programs and services within the Center. Essential to the role is the design of events and/or services that focus on identity exploration, educational excellence, retention, and success of students affiliated with the Center.

The Assistant Director along with student staff plans and implements programs and activities that include an alternative spring break trip, identity month celebrations, graduation recognition and dialogues on various intersectional issues. The Assistant Director also plays an integral role in creating and realizing the vision and mission of the Joey Jackson Intercultural Center (JJIC) and Student Union Leadership and Activities (SULA), working collaboratively with campus partners to ensure student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years relevant professional work experience.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience working with underrepresented student populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing programs, workshops, and/or educational experiences.
  • Ability to recruit, train and maintain a core group of volunteers and/or student employees.
  • Ability to identify and develop opportunities for student empowerment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Higher Education/Student Personnel, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Support/Discussion group facilitation skills and experience.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm.
Salary and Benefits:

The minimum salary for this position is $61,879.
