Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university program in related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in information security or tech support role, or related background
  • Experience in developing and presenting web based and/or training content
  • Experience in IT project management
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience demonstrating understanding of small business dynamics

Preferred Qualifications and Education: 

  • Professionally recognized certifications in a security-related field
  • Online training development
  • Practical experience with software secure coding practices and database security
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity experience
  • Authoring blogs posts and articles in related field

Responsibilities – Essential Functions: 

  • Support the advancement of the Small Business, Big Threat cyber security awareness program:
    • Continuously evolve content on website
    • Produce and record internal cyber awareness training modules in collaboration with SBDC Strategic Programs Manager and SBDC Training Manager
    • Develop cyber security awareness presentations and deliver the trainings to small businesses across the state
  • Maintain knowledge of information cyber security areas, trends, standards and best practices.  Elevate new trends and ideas to leadership team. 
  • Maintain understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Serve as go-to cyber expert for the Michigan SBDC network and regularly communicate with the core, tech and growth teams
  • Liaison with statewide and regional partners

  • Support various Michigan SBDC transformational initiatives

Salary:  Commensurate with experience
