 Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Management, Recreation or related field
  • 1-2 years of professional facility and event experience within a university athletic or recreation setting
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Commitment to inclusion and equity in all aspects of operations
  • Strong commitment to customer service and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of groups including students, faculty, and staff
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and self-motivate
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in planning and running events as the event coordinator
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Master’s degree preferred in related field
  • Past work experience with college students
  • Familiar with work study awards
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor or ability to become an instructor
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and conflict management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population in a university environment
  • Involvement with industry professional organizations

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for customer service initiatives for student and professional staff (training, implementation)
  • Continual updates of training manuals/daily user guides/brochures/website
  • Oversight of departments social media outlets
  • Oversee the operations of the Customer Service Desks of the Recreation Center
  • Hiring, Training, and Supervision of Recreation Center Student Staff and Graduate Assistant
  • Monitor Student Staffing Budget (Assist supervisor)
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification and teach Certification Courses to Student Staff
  • Event supervision & management of assigned events and groups
  • Sport Camp Coordinator, Clinics, and Tournaments which take place in Recreation Center/Arena
  • Nights and Weekends are required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary: $35,000-$40,000
