Summary: Grand Valley State University’s Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean. This Administrative Professional (12 month) position supports the continuing growth of the Padnos College. The starting date for this position will be as soon as possible.
Essential Functions: Reporting to the Dean, the Assistant Dean will provide administrative support for the college including industry and university partnership development and networking (domestic and international), grants and graduate assistant administration, student recruiting, promoting college visibility including social media, alumni relations, community engagement, and academic administrative functions.
The Padnos College offers undergraduate and graduate programs in several fields of engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, health and bioinformatics, data science, and occupational safety and health. Building upon close ties with local industries, the college has a rapidly growing student population, currently approximately 2,200 students, and has received national recognition for the integrated experiential learning, extensive laboratory experience, and practical preparation of our students in all of its programs.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline related to supporting the programs in the College is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in experiential learning, academic administration, student support, industry interaction, international programs, and contemporary communication strategies.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
