Required Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years of professional facility and event experience within an athletic or recreation setting
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated the ability to work effectively with a variety of groups including students, faculty, and staff
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and self-motivate
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in planning and running events as the event coordinator

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Master’s degree preferred in sport management, sport leadership, business or in related field
  • Past work experience with college students
  • Experience working with fitness equipment
  • Familiar with work study awards
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor or ability to become an instructor
  • Demonstrated experience with problem solving and conflict management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population in a university environment
  • Involvement with industry professional organizations

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for all Fieldhouse/Recreation Center fitness and strength equipment
  • Continual updates of maintenance logs for all equipment
  • Liaison with equipment vendors and service technicians
  • Monitor Maintenance Repair Reserve Budget (assist Assistant Athletic Director)
  • Oversight of departments locker rental program
  • Assist with oversight of the daily operations of the Fieldhouse/Recreation Center
  • Hiring, Training, and Supervision of Recreation Center Cardio, Courts, and Weight Room Student Staff
  • Hiring, Training, and Supervision of Recreation Center Maintenance Student Staff
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification and teach Certification Courses to Student Staff
  • Event supervision & management of assigned events and groups
  • Night and Weekend shifts as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary: $38,000-$40,000
