Summary: Grand Valley State University’s Seymour and Esther Padnos College of Engineering and Computing (PCEC) and Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence (CSCE) invites applications for the position of Full Stack Developer. The Administrative Professional (12 month) position will design, development, modify, and enhance moderately complex software applications for areas supported by the High Performance Computing technology team.

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field
  • Project Management Skills (Agile)
  • Proven experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) dev stack
  • 4+ years of full stack development experience using object-oriented languages, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, web services, and ETL to support back end integration

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Able to prioritize and balance competing needs
  • Works independently with minimal immediate direction
  • Passion for creating quality products that will solve problems and help others
  • Experience developing custom functionality for ERP or CRM systems
  • Works well with a team and individual project lead

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for providing consulting and support of custom application software
  • Gather requirements and user stories (Agile)
  • Interpret business requirements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications
  • Responsible for maintaining database integrity and security using quality control mechanisms and system tools
  • Creation and implementation of server-side APIs and integration of external API’s
  • Optimization of legacy system PHP code and SQL queries
