Assistant Professor of Musicology Bellingham, WA Music Department (4240)
The Department of Music at Western Washington University seeks a dynamic, student-centered artist/scholar to serve as Assistant Professor of Musicology. This is a full-time, tenure-track position, anticipated to begin on September 16, 2026. Duties will include teaching graduate and undergraduate academic courses in musicology—including survey courses for non-majors—as well as committee service and substantive research and/or creative activity. The ideal candidate will be experienced in fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment, and will be proactive in seeking collaborative opportunities with peers. They will nurture and sustain the Musicology program in its various facets, including pedagogy and curriculum, thesis advising, curating guest artists and presenters, and scholarship. The Project Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement manages the strategy, development, and execution of initiatives that strengthen the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management (MSCM) program’s academic excellence, industry engagement, and community collaborations. In this role, the Project Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic partnerships with industry, community colleges, and workforce organizations - with a clear focus to convert partnerships into measurable deliverables and enrollment outcomes. This position reports to the Chair of Decision Science Department. Hybrid work arrangement with regular on‐campus presence and travel to partner sites or events.

The English Department maintains a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in non-tenure-track teaching positions. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, we accept applications continuously for temporary, full, and part-time, non-tenure-track positions at the instructor level. Although most non-tenure-track faculty receive their course assignments for the upcoming academic year by mid-July, positions may become available at any time and are filled on a quarterly basis. The English Department is only hiring for in-person teaching at this time.

Although most limited-term faculty receive their course assignments for the upcoming academic year by June 30, positions may become available at any time and are filled on a quarterly basis.
