The WWU College of the Environment - Western on the Peninsulas programs maintain a vacancy pool of qualified persons interested in temporary teaching opportunities in Environmental Studies/Environmental Sciences. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year and summer sessions, applications are accepted continuously for temporary non-tenure track teaching positions. These are usually part-time contracts, with occasional opportunities for temporary, full-time appointments. Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a quarterly basis.

The Grant and Contract Coordinator works under general direction to negotiate with funding agencies to establish terms and conditions of grant and contract awards, conduct preliminary institution-wide review of proposals, and provide technical advise regarding alternative formats, sources of funding, and agency policies to faculty investigators and administrators involved in proposal preparation. This position is within RSP’s pre-award group and reports to the RSP Director. It works closely with post-award and compliance staff, other campus units including Contracts, Student Employment, and the Graduate School, as well as faculty and students. The position requires the ability to learn quickly and keep up to date on changing regulations and processes, manage complex, changing priorities and workflows, and work collaboratively with colleagues, students and staff from a range of disciplines and backgrounds.

This position manages the activities of a research laboratory to accomplish goals related to the mission of the Institute, including quality assurance/quality control, accreditation, and sample analysis. The Research Technologist Supervisor position also assists in the design of experiments and long-term studies; analyzes experimental results and prepares reports for publication; conducts water quality monitoring on lakes and tributaries; and supervises and mentors temporary and student employees.
