| Writing consultants have the opportunity to hold interactive writing appointments with student writers from all disciplines on various writing projects such as essays, speeches, proposals, multimodal projects, etc. Consultants must understand the structure of topic sentences, thesis statements, paragraphs, and essays along with essay knowledge. Writing consultants should have a good understanding of grammar and mechanics as well. Knowledge in various rhetorical modes and types (e.g. literary reviews, analyses, blogs, websites, presentations, etc....) is beneficial. Consultants will develop key skills such as communication, cooperation, and leadership. Consultants will also have the opportunity to specialize in types of writing and citation styles. Students will complete and submit bi-weekly timesheets. |
