The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor to pursue a research program using genetic tools to investigate mechanistic molecular biological phenomena. The position will begin September 1, 2026.
Assistant Professor - Computer Engineering Engineering
The Department of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Engineering, beginning September 1, 2026. We seek dynamic and innovative candidates with a strong research record in quantum information science and engineering (QISE) who can build and sustain a nationally recognized, externally funded applied research program. While applications over a wide range of specialties in QISE are encouraged, the successful candidate will enhance or strategically complement ongoing efforts within the Engineering department, Department of Physics, and Data & Quantum Science Center at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Preference will be given to applications focusing on work in the areas of superconducting quantum computing, quantum information processing, quantum electronic devices and systems, quantum sensing, quantum control, quantum materials, atomic and molecular quantum systems, and quantum nano- and optomechanics.
Assistant Professor - Physics Physics
The Department of Physics in the College of Science and Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor Position beginning September 1, 2026, to pursue a research program focusing on computational research in the fields of soft matter physics and biophysics. We will prioritize candidates whose research complements existing strengths in experimental soft condensed matter physics or biophysics research within the department. Candidates with expertise in computational physics, including machine learning, applied to study soft materials and biophysics, and in collaborating with experimental groups are encouraged to apply.
