The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor to pursue a teaching and research program focused on Biology Education and/or pedagogy in science. The position will begin September 1, 2026. We will prioritize candidates who are committed to improving student success in the first years of undergraduate study. The faculty member will focus on teaching and/or leading instructional teams in our core first-year General Biology courses. This principally involves working with commercial fishing scientific data compilation, analysis, modeling, and visualization, and integration of local fishermen’s ecological knowledge, and available socioeconomics scientific data in the Northeast U.S. coastal fishing communities, but with possible opportunities to develop additional projects broadly on fisheries socioeconomic in other systems.
