Multimedia Specialist UMass Lowell
The Marketing and Communications Multimedia Specialist is responsible for supporting communications and storytelling efforts primarily across digital and social media platforms, using animation, graphic design, photography, video and audio. Produced content should strengthen and advance UML’s brand messaging and reputation in addition to supporting recruitment and enrollment of students at all levels (undergraduate, adult degree completers and graduate students). Reporting to the Creative Director and in concert with the department’s Editorial Director, graphic designers, social media team and staff writers, the Multimedia Specialist will conceptualize, pitch and generate content on a near-daily basis related to activities involving the Chancellor, Admissions and Advancement, as well as events or noteworthy initiatives at the university’s colleges. This position requires a highly creative, deadline-oriented individual with proven experience producing successful rich content while working collaboratively with a cross-functional team (Editorial, Design & Production, Web and Enrollment Marketing). It requires someone who can both pitch their own ideas and take assignments and run with them. As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Multimedia Specialist will partner with other department colleagues to support programs and initiatives related to student recruitment, the student experience and campus life, donor and alumni relations, community relations and research and career-related endeavors of students and faculty.
