| The Director of Network Services is the chief architect and leader of the Network Services group in Information Technology. The Director of Network Services is responsible for managing, leading, and expanding the skillset of the Network Services team as well as the overall operations, architecture, expansion, and advanced support of network-related systems to meet the business needs of UMass Lowell.
Under the direction of the Associate CIO of Network and Communication Services, the Director of Network Services has a broad and deep view of UMass Lowell’s network-related technology systems, as well as a thorough understanding of the business drivers that impact those technology systems. As a team leader and project coordinator of highly advanced network systems, this individual is responsible for not only leading all aspects of the Network Services team, but providing thought-leadership, advanced mentoring, expert technical/strategic support, and ensuring the overall function of the university’s network services. They are responsible for the selection, adoption, and assimilation of new architectural and operational solutions, as well as the continued support of existing services.
The Director is the highest internal escalation point for all issues related to the university’s network systems, and functions as a mentor to other members of IT both inside and outside of their team. In addition to knowledge of network systems, the Director of Network Services is expected to make meaningful contributions to all areas of UMass Lowell’s technology infrastructure, including voice services, systems engineering, instructional technologies, audio/visual, security, and academic/research technologies. |

Director of Advising Commonwealth Honors College

| The Director of Advising oversees advising programs and services for Commonwealth Honors College (CHC) students, developing academic plans to progress toward completion of an Honors graduation plan. The Director collaborates on program initiatives within CHC and University-wide and leads the development and delivery of programs and services that enhance student success, retention, and advancement. The Director directs New Students’ Orientation and Transitions and advising services for honors students and develops CHC advisor training and professional development activities. They direct work assignments and evaluate performance for exempt and non-exempt staff.
Responsibilities include the supervision of Advising staff and the management of the Bloom Honors Advising Center, including operations and budget. They serve on CHC's Unit Director Team to address emerging CHC issues. |

| The successful applicant will conduct analytical and experimental research as well as system development in compact radar range (CRR) radar cross section (RCS) measurement systems with an emphasis on bistatic and multi-static measurement systems and techniques. The successful applicant will also collaborate with STL senior staff, write detailed technical reports for STL’s DoD sponsor, as well as publish results in scholarly journals and/or relevant recognized conferences in the United States (US). The successful applicant may also be assigned other relevant duties in support of STL’s DoD contract regarding RCS measurement systems and techniques by STL’s Director/PI.
The initial appointment will be for December 1, 2025 through December 1, 2026, assuming additional funding is available by May 16, 2026, with a possibility of renewal for a second year based on productivity and performance and the availability of funding. |
