The Department of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, with a starting date of September 1, 2025. We seek energetic candidates with strong research track records capable of establishing and maintaining a nationally recognized and externally funded applied research program in the fields of one or more of the following core areas: Power Systems, Power Electronics, Electric Motors and Drive, Power Apparatus and Protection, Smart Grids, Renewable Energy Systems, Wireless Power Transfer. Assistant Professor (Marine Ecology) UMass Boston
The Biology Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks to hire an Assistant Professor in the field of Marine Ecology to begin September 1, 2025. Successful candidates will be expected to undertake externally funded research in marine ecology defined broadly and to satisfy important teaching needs of the Department of Biology in ecology, zoology, conservation biology, and/or evolution. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree and relevant postdoctoral research experience. The Assistant Professor hired for this position will direct the research of students at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, interact with a dynamic group of ecologists and evolutionary biologists, and become an active participant in our Environmental Biology and/or Molecular, Cellular, and Organismal Biology PhD programs. Commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected, and the application of innovative pedagogical approaches is highly valued. Assistant Professor (Data Science and Applied Mathematics) UMass Boston
The Department of Mathematics in the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Data Science in Applied Mathematics starting September 1, 2025. The new hire is expected to join the Mathematics Department and to increase synergy and collaboration with existing data science research groups in the Mathematics Department and across the College. In addition to a new Data and Quantum Science Center, six PhD degree programs in CSM, including the interdisciplinary Computational Sciences PhD program, and various faculty conducting data driven research across the CSM and the University provide a rich environment for collaboration and career growth.
