The Operations and Communications Assistant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Rist Institute for Sustainability & Energy and Innovation Hub. This position provides administrative support, helps manage building operations and member engagement, coordinates meetings and events, and contributes to communications and outreach efforts. The role also supports strategic initiatives and helps track key metrics to advance the Institute’s mission. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operations, events, and communications within a collaborative and mission-driven environment focused on sustainability and innovation. Key Responsibilities: • Building Operations & Member Support: Provide operational and administrative support to ensure smooth building operations, assist members and tenants, and foster a welcoming environment. • Events & Activities Management: Support events and activities from planning through execution, including event staging and managing logistics, to ensure a smooth experience for participants and advance the Institute’s mission. • Communications, Marketing & Outreach: Contribute to internal and external communications to raise awareness of the Institute’s work, engage partners and stakeholders, and share updates on programs, events, and initiatives through websites, newsletters, reports, social media, and other channels. • Administrative Support & Strategic Initiatives: Track key performance metrics, prepare reports, assist with meeting planning and travel, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives. This is a one-year term appointment, contingent upon funding, with the potential for renewal based on performance and organizational need.

This position provides broad based Customer Service support as needed to the Facilities Service Center. Primary duties include responding to all incoming calls and visitors related to facility emergencies, maintenance requests and routine inquiries, the coordination of employee programs (such as uniforms, gas cards, cell phones, and procurement/business support) as needed to the Facilities Management Department. Miscellaneous office support will include coordinating office activities and support for multiple senior-level managers and other team members within the Facilities Management Department to ensure the smooth operation of facilities business including procurement and accounts payable processing, strategic reporting, process improvement.

The UMass Lowell Susan and Alan Solomont School of Nursing seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member with an established program of research or solid research trajectory. Priority research areas include health promotion, the healthcare workforce, and historically excluded and underserved populations, but applicants with expertise in other areas are also encouraged to apply. Tenure-track faculty are expected to teach 4 courses per year, with reductions based on research productivity; generous teaching releases are standard for assistant professors in their first four years. All faculty in the School are expected to engage in service to the School, College, and University, commensurate with rank. We seek applicants recognized for scholarly productivity, ability to work with diverse populations, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate may be appointed at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, depending upon qualifications.

The Senior Lab Manager manages the daily operations of the Electrical and Computer Engineering (EECE) instructional and research laboratories and the EECE maker space. Responsibilities include equipment management, budgeting, maintenance, and supervising personnel, all requiring strong technical and engineering skills. They also act as the main safety liaison with UMass Lowell’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) office and work closely with EECE faculty, staff, and students to support teaching and research activities. Additionally, this person is responsible for providing lab instruction as needed.
