As the Head of Auto Lending for a large ASX listed business, you will be the most senior leader responsible for CarStart’s diverse, multi-site operations. You will have a high degree of autonomy to drive revenue, profit, and growth. This is a broad reaching, commercially focused role that combines operational oversight with strategic thinking and execution.

Our approach to auto lending is not traditional. The successful candidate will be comfortable with running dealerships and managing lending operations. You will be responsible for delivering on high growth ambitions, through our dealership, direct and broker channels. Your strategic leadership will drive a high-performance culture, empowering teams to exceed in vehicle loan underwriting, dealership management and outstanding service delivery.

Leveraging your deep broker network and auto lending experience, you’ll partner with stakeholders to grow market share and embed best practices. Combining commercial acumen with operational excellence, you will champion continuous improvement and innovative solutions across the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the end-to-end operations of our integrated physical dealership and finance solutions across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
  • Lead and optimise diverse operations, managing resources and reporting frameworks to consistently exceed revenue and profit targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, manage the opportunity pipeline and cultivate strong, ongoing partnerships to accelerate market share growth.
  • Optimise underwriting processes for speed and accuracy while ensuring strict adherence to NCCP, ASIC regulatory guidelines, Privacy legislation and other applicable regulations.
  • Oversee vehicle acquisition, pricing and stock quality across sites in compliance with the Motor Dealer’s Act and manage supplier relations.
  • Set targets and build a high-performance coaching culture that drives team capability, accountability and engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A leader who works well with ambiguity and can deliver on key outcomes with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Extensive auto-lending and automotive industry experience.
  • Experience managing consumer lending programs, including loan processing to approval.
  • Strong commercial acumen supported by advanced financial modelling and critical thinking skills to deliver on business case objectives.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and change management.
  • Strong resilience and determination, with a proven ability to manage complex priorities and solve problems under pressure.
