The program
The Australian Red Cross Migration Support Programs provide help and support to refugees, asylum seekers, immigration detainees and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration.
We do this through a range of services and programs that protect and uphold the health, dignity and wellbeing of vulnerable migrants. We also provide services to reconnect family members whose loss of contact is caused by international or internal conflict, war and disaster.
The opportunity
The position of the MSP Hotline Volunteer is to provide quality customer service and administrative support at both our North Melbourne and Dandenong offices. We are currently seeking volunteers be first responders on our phone and administration hotline, responding to queries from clients and stakeholders in relation to our emergency relief and casework programs. Specific responsibilities will be adapted depending on the day-to-day needs of the office and as directed by the Volunteer Coordinator.
The impact
As a Migration Support Programs volunteer, you’ll help improve the wellbeing of people suffering vulnerability as a result of migration. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
