Hi! We’re Telstra Purple

About Us

Formerly Kloud Solutions, Readify, VMTech, MSC, Bridgepoint, O2, NSC, iVision, and Company85; together, we're Telstra Purple.  We provide real business value to clients, as we journey towards making Australia a world-leading digital economy.

We’re a collection of passionate people who give purpose to technology. These are the most important aspects of our business – so important that we’ve used them to inspire our name. We’re a technology services organisation focused on transforming businesses, from the network to digital experience, and we do it all with a purpose in mind.

Join us on the leading edge of innovation, as we help our clients navigate to a brilliantly connected future.

About the Role

We're currently expanding our capability to deliver high quality UX and UI design solutions end-to-end. This means we're working with clients to define the right problems to solve, defining and creating products, and delivering solid UX and usability in agile teams.

As a Lead Consultant, you'll help to deliver innovative solutions for our Tier 1 clients, improve their design practices and educate teams in a range of design aspects. More specifically, you’ll:

  • Lead pre-sales conversations with clients to identify opportunities for design (and other) engagements based on business needs, goals, problems

  • Develop proposals for new business opportunities, detailing approach, rationale, activities/deliverables, consultant skillset requirements, timelines, and delivery method

  • Oversee engagements monitoring scope, client and consultant satisfaction, and engagement risk

  • Build strong relationships with design team members, understanding their core skillset and desired growth areas; and identify engagements that will develop or strengthen their skills

  • Proactively support consultants on engagements, providing guidance and advice where appropriate

  • Coaching design consultants to help them achieve their professional aspirations, identifying skills to strengthen and providing guidance on activities/programs/courses

You’ll work on a wide variety of client projects, and across all stages of the design process. We work on web and app projects, as well as those for new and interesting technologies like voice, bots, AI, augmented/mixed reality and whatever comes around the corner next.

About You

We're looking for great all-rounders – people who can help our clients with all their diverse design needs. As a small team, we don’t have specialists and will be looking to assemble a team that covers the spectrum of design skills – from strategy to front-end delivery and all the skills in-between. We don’t expect you to cover all these areas, but we’ll be looking for people with a breadth of experience and a couple of specialisations.

You may have experience with some of the following:

  • Structuring, planning and facilitating discovery workshops to uncover and define the right problems to solve

  • Planning and conducting user research and usability testing (including choosing the right methods to get the right answers)

  • Analysing and synthesising research findings

  • Communicating outcomes of research, using a range of methods

  • Creating rapid prototypes to explore concepts and test them

  • Creating detailed wireframes, storyboards and diagrams to show how a solution hangs together

  • Creating high-fidelity designs and design systems

  • Working closely with a development team during delivery

  • Creating HTML/CSS for responsive sites

  • Using whatever software that gets the job done (Sketch, the latest prototyping tool, Sharpie)

Ideally, you’ll have worked in a client-facing situation (freelance, agency, consulting, part of an in-house consulting team, etc.), have experience working in an Agile environment, understand what it is to be Agile – beyond just the ceremonies, and are an active and life-long learner.

Perk Central

Not to brag, but we provide some pretty compelling benefits, including:

  • a focus on work-life balance, with 15 days personal/carers leave

  • 16 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers; 6 weeks paid parental leave for secondary carers

  • access to paid leave to develop yourself professionally (e.g. attending conferences, purchasing courses, etc.)

  • a Telstra 20GB mobile hotspot

  • a heavily subsidised Telstra mobile phone plan

  • a sizable Toolkit Allowance to purchase a device of your choosing

  • discounted Telstra Products and Services

If you like the sound of us, hit apply! We'd love to learn about you.
