The researcher will be part of the team of the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience institute (CFI) (https://cde.nus.edu.sg/cfisg/research/). The Research Fellow will lead the design, analysis, and development of multi-purpose floating breakwater systems, integrating wave, tidal, and solar energy technologies. Key responsibilities include conducting wave stochastic and hydrodynamic analyses, performing CFD and finite element modeling for stability and structural integrity, and designing connectors for floating structure integration. The role also involves planning and executing experimental tests, analyzing results, and refining designs. Additionally, the Research Fellow will explore innovative materials and configurations, document findings through detailed reports and publications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance renewable energy and coastal protection solutions.

Research Fellow / Engineer (3D-printed propellers x NAMIC) - TZY8

The researcher will be part of the team of the NAMIC Project for 3DP Propeller. The Research Engineer will play a critical role in the development, validation, and optimization of 3D-printed propellers. This includes conducting hydrodynamic analysis, finite element modeling, as well as overseeing site-based test bedding, data collection, and reporting. The role also involves evaluating the performance of propeller using Response Surface Methodology.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to lead the storm surge modelling in the Singapore Sea. As a specialist in wave modelling software, the successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects related to coastal and ocean wave modelling using Delt3D software. The role of the researcher is to perform physics-based modeling to build a numerical model that can predict storm surges in Singapore coastlines based on different weather conditions. The researcher will also work with team members within the consortium in generating necessary data required for developing a machine learning model for storm surge prediction.
