JOB SUMMARY: Intern will work closely with the Facility and Interior design team with an intention to provide a first hand knowledge and understanding of how theme parks are developed and designed through exposure and interaction with a variety of efforts across all portfolios. Intern will interact with and be guided by the facility design team members, while contributing to ongoing project needs. They will be mentored in professional development and gain industry knowledge in theme park design and project execution.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists interior design team with developing necessary design studies through the use of CAD, hand sketching and graphic software.
- Utilizes specification software for ongoing maintenance of interior design material specifications and FF&E.
- Helps facilitate communication, utilizes UO communication tools for inclusion of facility design related discussions, and provides general support for interior design project management.
- Assists interior design team with the management of documentation and organization of all interior design control samples and mockups.
- Assists with the interior design coordination between various internal partners: Operations, Parkwide Systems, Ride and Show.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Interior Design or similar.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Spexx, Photoshop, Sketchup preferred.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
