JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Architect – Asset Management supports the planning, evaluation, and life cycle stewardship of facilities and infrastructure across Universal Destinations & Experiences. This role applies architectural expertise to asset condition assessments, capital planning, design standards, and long-term maintenance strategies. The architect ensures that facilities meet regulatory requirements, operational needs, and enterprise asset management objectives while partnering closely with engineering, maintenance, and project delivery teams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Facility assessments of buildings and facilities assets, documenting condition, remaining useful life, code compliance, and their ability to perform its intended function.
  • Develop asset management standards, architectural design guidelines, and specifications that support reliability, maintainability, and long-term performance.
  • Support Facility Services Annual Operating program and Capital Planning by preparing “Facility Assessment & Condition Tracking Summary (FACTS) reports with recommendations, prioritization criteria, requirements and life cycle evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Facility Services, Asset Management Programs, Facilities Management and Universal Creative to resolve building envelope, interior, and spatial configuration issues.
  • Lead design review of contract construction documents, products, milestone and shop drawings submittals, and technical documents prepared by consultants; ensure compliance with UDX standards and applicable codes.
  • Serve as an Architect subject matter expert for asset data accuracy, digital models, and facility documentation in Maximo.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited institution, required. Masters preferred.
  • Current Registered Architect (RA) licensure in at least one U.S. state, required.
  • Florida Registration, or ability to obtain within 8 months, required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in architecture with exposure to building systems, codes, and facility operations, required.
  • 1+ year experience supervising or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in asset management, facility assessments, building envelope analysis, or life cycle planning, and working in large hospitality, entertainment, campus, or theme park environments, preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Strong understanding of building codes, ADA requirements, and construction industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform facility condition assessments and interpret technical data.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with CMMS/EAM platforms.
  • Strong report writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering, maintenance, and operational teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
