Overview |
CPDC Ambassadors are students who assists with outreach and promotion of CPDC services to current and prospective students. Activities may include attending on-campus events, serving as a student career ambassador to the campus community, creating and maintaining social media content, and supporting school specific marketing strategies. The CPDC Ambassador will utilize a combination of communication, marketing, leadership, and teamwork skills to effectively create student programs and build relationships across campus. Ambassadors will also assist the CPDC staff with various assigned special task to better enhance services to all students. |
Responsibilities |
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: encourage students to effectively utilize the CPDC services, personnel, technology, and resources, serve as an ambassador during campus and community events, including but not limited to Admissions Recruiting Programs, CPDC workshops, job & internship fairs, and other promotional events, act as a liaison among RMU students, student organizations, and the CPDC, build relationships with students across campus and in the residence halls, assist with social media and the creation of content, attend all CPDC Student Ambassador trainings, meetings, and professional development sessions, model professional behavior and etiquette at work in the Center and at all CPDC activities, events and programs, promote CPDC events and programs through weekly tabling sessions, social media, class announcements, e-mails, and personal networking, support CPDC events and programs, including employer networking activities, and job & internship fairs, etc., assist with the marketing efforts of CPDC events, programs, and services to students, maintaining the front desk and all of the clerical duties involved, posting jobs and internships on ColonialTRAK and Talent Track. Students hired into these positions will learn how to effectively communicate with other students, faculty, staff and employers. They will each learn how to represent the CPDC as student career professionals teaching basic resume writing and jobs searching skills. |
Minimum Qualifications |
For this position some qualifications include: currently enrolled a sophomore, junior, or senior, with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher, reliable, strong work-ethic, punctual and dependable, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, strong interpersonal skills,willingness to learn and work with minimal direct supervision, willingness to conduct presentations to the general campus community and targeted student groups and organizations which will including evenings and weekends, must be in good standing with RMU. *Preference will be given to students with experiential learning backgrounds (e.g., completed internship, practicum, or other work-based experiences). *Business casual attire required |
