The Staff Physical Therapist is involved in direct patient care of patients in the University of Delaware Physical Therapy Clinic. The position of Staff Physical Therapist is an integral component of the physical therapy clinic and physical therapy department. The incumbent supervises Doctor’s of Physical Therapy students during patient care. The incumbent also has a role in mentoring of junior staff therapists in Residency and Fellowship training. This involves guidance and consultation with direct patient care. The Physical Therapist functions independently when given instruction of academic and clinical needs to be addressed. The incumbent is expected to maintain communication with the department, for administrative and research components as well as communication with the faculty of other physical therapy institutions on issues of clinical education and specialty area development. This position has an administrative component that is related to needed projects including protocol development and the student interaction with the clinic environment. Incumbents also are expected to participate in departmental team and committee work. |

The ELC is a professional learning community where teachers engage in continuous learning and reflective practice. Under the general direction of the Co-Directors, the Teacher oversees the daily operation of the classroom program, including collaborative decision-making with classroom partner, family communication, and mentoring relationships with undergraduate UD students. |
Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Open Rank Continuing Track Faculty Position, Athletic Training Program Director

The Department of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology invites nominations and applications for an Open Rank Continuing Track (11-month, non-tenured ) faculty position to serve as the Director of the Athletic Training program with a balanced teaching and administrative workload. The Program Director is responsible for teaching Athletic Training courses consistent with their expertise, maintaining compliance with CAATE standards along with annual reports and accreditation materials, mentoring Athletic Training students, conducting scholarship consistent with CAATE standards, recruitment of new students, and providing service to the Department, College, University, and Athletic Training profession. The Department has five Athletic Training faculty that teach in the undergraduate Sports Health and graduate Athletic Training program including a Clinical Education Coordinator. The Athletic Training program has a dedicated didactic and clinical laboratory teaching space with extensive modalities and rehabilitation equipment, a Gaumard patient simulator, and annual equipment/supplies budget. The program has an exceptional relationship with the clinical athletic trainers in Intercollegiate Athletics who serve as preceptors for the students and as adjunct faculty in the academic program, established student clinical sites in both local high schools and clinics, as well as a strong working relationship with both the Physical Therapy and Nursing programs.
The position requirements include a Doctoral degree in a related field certification as an Athletic Trainer and eligible for licensure in the state of Delaware. Prior college-level teaching experience and Athletic Training administrative experience are required. Prior experience with CAATE accreditation standards, graduate level teaching, relevant clinical experience, and experience with student mentorship are preferred.
