Responsible for supporting Registration and Academic Services and University constituents relating to the use of the Banner Student Information System. The Systems Manager will oversee and manage the utilization of the Banner system by evaluating, continually improving processes and provide training to those departments affected by changes. 1. Oversee and manage the Student module of the University's (enterprise resource planning) ERP, Ellucian Banner (Lehigh’s information database) and associated systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy
*Coordinate and ensure all software releases are tested and installed into production in a timely manner
*Provide training and assistance to Banner users for new features and modifications as a result of an upgrade
*Continuously refresh users on proper technical operating procedures
*Analyze and make recommendations to improve existing processes
*Participate in design, testing and troubleshooting of new systems, upgrades and enhancements
*Investigate and resolve problems that occur, interacting with users, programmers and Ellucian to resolve issues
*Comply with applicable University, federal and state guidelines for data submissions
*Generate data discrepancy and exception reports to ensure processing is in compliance with University, state and federal guidelines
*Monitor and administer security for constituent use of Banner system
*Maintain the self-service component of Banner

2. Develop reports used within Registration and Academic Services and across the University utilizing Evisions Argos Reporting tool
*Coordinate and work with technology staff to create and maintain efficient reporting tools
*Consult with University staff and faculty to determine their reporting needs
*Comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines when generating data
*Ensure accurate data is maintained with student Banner and reporting tools
*Evaluate and assist with conversion of current processes and existing reports to Argos reporting tool, including writing and maintaining sql script
*Assist Technology and Training Assistant with any necessary training that is required

3. Provide operational support for the software within Registration and Academic Services
*Support any issues with software vendors
*Currently these systems include CollegeSource Degree Audit and Academic Planner, Degree Works Degree Audit and Planner, Leepfrog Catalog and Curriculum, National Student Clearinghouse Electronic Transcripts, Evisions Argos Reporting, Paradigm Diplomas, CollegeNet Series25 and Schedule Expert Final Exam Scheduler
*Software systems undergo periodic evaluation to determine whether current and future needs are met
*Coordinate upgrades for the software and provide any necessary training
*Act as liaison with Library and Technology Services (LTS) on the technology needs of the software

4. Oversees the reporting of enrollment data to the National Student Clearinghouse and facilitates the resolution of related system and data discrepancies, as well as difficulties experienced by students
*Upload early, initial and monthly enrollment files; correct any issues
*Upload degree verification files; correct any issues
*Resolve any issues students have with obtaining their degree verifications
*Coordinate and ensure all software updates are completed

The duties of this position may allow the employee to work partially remote as deemed appropriate by their supervisor 


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three to five years related work experience

Experience in a higher education environment with functional knowledge of Banner preferred Relational database (Oracle, MS Access, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) experience preferred

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service required

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and a high degree of initiative for bringing tasks to completion

Solid writing ability, attention to detail and organizational skills

Solid analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently

Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software

Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
