The School of Communication and the Arts at Marist University invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer of Music/Interim Director of Instrumental Activities with a focus on conducting the university’s concert ensembles. In addition, this individual will have primary oversight of the program’s chamber and string ensembles. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses such as Symphonic Band; Wind Symphony; Instrumental Skills, and/or other first-year music history courses. The Music Program seeks a candidate with both ensemble direction and classroom teaching experience.
Assistant/Associate Professor of Management Poughkeepsie, NY
This is a tenure-track position in management. We are seeking faculty members able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management, human resource management, OB, and related subjects. Marist faculty are expected to maintain a robust program of disciplinary research resulting in peer-reviewed publications. They also participate in the life of the School and its activities, including involvement in committee work, student advising and support, and community outreach activities. The disciplinary focus for this lectureship is management. The successful candidate will teach a 4-4 load (four sections of introduction to business, organizational behavior, human resource management, or other management-related courses per semester). The ideal candidate is a faculty member who is passionate about conveying key concepts and current trends in management, and who can help prepare students to succeed in their chosen profession. We are open to candidates with a specialty in any of the primary sub-specialties within management, for example organizational behavior, human resources management, leadership, etc. We are seeking faculty members excited to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management and related subjects. The successful candidate will have qualifications in, and connections to, the field of management, either through academic research or professional activity. This is a teaching-focused role. Director, Human Resources Poughkeepsie, NY
The Director of Human Resources provides operational leadership and guidance within the Office of Human Resources and to other managers throughout campus. This position is responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, as well as handling all aspects of employee and labor relations and immigration compliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this individual will serve as the second-in-command, exercising a high degree of independent judgment and serving as a key advisor and institutional representative in complex matters. The role requires deep understanding of immigration policies and strong expertise in employment and labor law, collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and workforce engagement to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
