Job Title: Marketing and Administrative Assistant- Development & Alumni Affairs
Department: Development & Alumni Affairs

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of various marketing and social media campaigns for the Department of Development & Alumni Affairs and its alumni career development program.
  • Assist in the creation of compelling and creative content via email, web and digital media.
  • Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks.
  • Write spotlights highlighting alumni achievements.
  • Assist with event planning and execution. Represent the Department of Development & Alumni Affairs at various QU events.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as research, outreach, mailing, creating lists, and creating/running reports.
  • Additional job duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
  • Experience using web and social media managing tools.
  • Strong planning, prioritizing, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to proofread and edit.
  • Excellent customer service abilities; willing to represent alumni department at various campus events and engage with alumni, students, faculty/staff.
  • Ideal candidate will have completed prior coursework in digital media, marketing, public relations and/or journalism.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using Canva and/or the Adobe Creative Suite: (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Final Cut).
Hours of Position:
  • 10 - 15 hours per week
  • Hours will typically fall between 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Availability to work the weekend of October 25-27, 2024 (Bobcat Weekend) is strongly preferred.
