Federal Work Study- Cardiovascular Perfusion TA Syracuse
Assist perfusion faculty in setup and running of educational laboratory modules, design extra-corporeal circuits, stock inventory, setting up exams and access to teaching and video resources.
Federal Work Study- Rural Medical Program Support Syracuse
The rural medical scholars program is looking for a work study student to help with management of social media and other communications. This would include creation of posts for the program instagram account as well as help in producing a program newsletter.
Federal Work Study- Research Compliance Clerical Support Syracuse
Provide clerical support for three University wide research compliance committees: 1. The Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRB). This committee reviews and oversees all research involving human subjects; 2. The Institutional BioSafety Committee (IBC). This committee reviews and oversees all research which involves the use of infectious agents, fresh human tissue, blood or recombinant DNA; and 3. The Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee (SCRO). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: triaging phone calls for the above three committees and providing faculty, CRA's, medical students and house staff with information about requirements, procedures and forms, communicating with research faculty and staff; organizing, filing and scanning research documents.
Federal Work Study- PM&R Research Assistant Syracuse
This is a support position for the SUNY Upstate Brain Tumor Laboratory and Biorepository. The Aide will carry out a variety of support functions such as: 1) wet-lab assistance (preparing glassware, checking cultured cells, maintaining laboratory stocks, etc.); 2) tumor bank organization (data entry, validation of medical reports); and 3) inventory management (orders, reagents, and tissue specimens). After a year of successful lab work, skilled Aides will be offered the opportunity to engage in research projects if they have the interest and ability to do so.

The SUNY Syracuse EOC is part of a system of educational enterprises that serve eligible adult learners. Founded over 50 years ago, the mission of the EOC system is to “provide urban communities with innovative academic programs leading to higher education and vocational training programs leading to gainful employment and economic self-sufficiency.” Make a meaningful difference in a student’s life! Adult education teachers and tutors help bridge the gap between millions of Americans marginalized by their limited education and a job market that increasingly demands more advanced skills. Many of our students have been educationally under-served and have had negative experiences with prior schooling. Therefore, the EOC provides support services such as the EOC Tutoring Center. The EOC Tutoring Center is a supportive environment where our students practice skills needed to achieve academic success. Tutors are available in a variety of subject areas to help students gain a deeper understanding of course content, prepare for exams such as the GED, or learn just for self-improvement. Tutors employ various instructional strategies to address a student’s needs and build their confidence. EOC also offers quality online tutoring by means of our Virtual Tutoring Lab. For Fall 2023, the EOC Tutoring Lab is seeking tutors qualified to tutor English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Math, and Science. Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified and willing to tutor multiple subjects. This position is off campus located at the EOC Center: 100 New Street, Syracuse NY 13202
