The Medical/Surgical Support Pool at the Community Campus consists of Registered Nurses that work throughout the hospital on multiple units to include: Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Cardiac, Transitional Care, and Rehabilitation. These dynamic individuals are prescheduled on units in 2- week blocks of time at a minimum to help support those units with an immediate/long term need for RN’s for planned absences. |

Participates in development/implementation of educational programs for surgical technologist program; Demonstrates the ability to perform surgical technology skills for all general and specialty based cases preferred. |

Administers care that is individualized and is consistent with the plan of care and with standards of care/practice (Reports to RN any change in patient condition, administers medications, functions independently, within area of practice); Demonstrates clinical skills for work area (completes unit specific skills/competencies; Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care; Incorporates patient/family/significant other teaching into routine care under the direction of the RN; Adjusts work routine to meet changing unit and patient conditions; Fosters team building spirit (assist new staff members integration into the team; Contributes to plan of care, as well as implementation of plan; Maintains a safe working environment; Fosters a positive public relations with patients, families and staff. Medication administration, obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKG's, hands on nursing care and some heavy lifting required. Current CPR, 1 year post licensure nursing experience preferred. |
