Responsible for the orientation and education of staff and serves as a resource to new staff and other Upstate personnel. Works with orientees, staff and manager to identify learning needs and opportunities with department. Remains current on neurodiagnostic education and training of staff. Leads department initiative to increase specialty certification. Provides off shift oversight of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at UH (Downtown Campus) and CH (Community Campus). Acts as a point person for resolutions of equipment issues. Functions as a EEG Technician, performing routine EEG's in accordance with established ASET guidelines on patients ranging from neo-natal to geriatric in an in and outpatient setting, enters raw data and prepares data for physician review, measures and applies electrodes for adult and pediatric patients, participates in on-call rotation, maintains equipment, stocks acquisition stations, reports malfunctions to Clinical Engineering and records in equipment log book. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, involvement and interest in activities that promote growth of the department and staff. Will provide guidance and support to staff in the absence of the Manager. |

The Echocardiograph Sonographer will provide Echo imaging services in our Hospital and Clinic settings. Studies performed include 2-D and 3-D echo exams, Transesophageal Echocardiography, exercise and pharmacologic Stress echocardiograms, and also participation in Echo's performed during procedures in the Heart and Vascular Center. The Research Lab Assistant will conduct biomedical research studying the retina. Manage mouse colony. Responsible for ordering lab equipment, supplies, reagents. Conduct experiments using biochemical and cell biological techniques such as Western blotting, genotyping, cell culture expression, PCR, confocal microscopy and others. Prepare samples for mass spectrometry and electron microscopy. Appropriately backup and store lab data. Orient new lab members. Keep the lab clean and organized. |
