| The Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility & benefits, initiating precertification with payer, contacting Utilization Review department for concurrent review, research patient's co pay/deductible/out of pocket expense and collect from the patient either in-house or upon discharge. Responsible for working with Patient Flow Coordinator to follow up on bed placement activity, bed transfer and discharge of inpatients. Answer a large volume of telephone calls regarding inpatient admissions and from insurance companies. Interacts with all levels of clinical staff regarding patient activity. Ensures Clinical Physician Order Entry are correct based on how patient was scheduled. Responsible for overseeing the paperwork for in-house expirations and works with physicians to obtain signature on electronic death certificate. Will be responsible for securing & releasing patient valuables. Also responsible for researching & collect patient's financial responsibility in person or with patient via phone. |
