3W Med/Surg is a 30 bed cardiac telemetry unit that provides a variety of medical surgical services at the Community Campus. This fast paced unit seeks compassionate and motivated individuals who love to be challenged and grow within the profession. Our patients are typically admitted from the ED, outside facilities or transferred from the ICU and require frequent monitoring in regards to their cardiac or medical states Our focus is to provide excellent patient care as well as a healthy work environment for all staff.

The Medical/Surgical Support Pool at the Community Campus consists of Registered Nurses that work throughout the hospital on multiple units to include: Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Cardiac, Transitional Care, and Rehabilitation. These dynamic individuals are prescheduled on units in 2- week blocks of time at a minimum to help support those units with an immediate/long term need for RN’s for planned absences.

CG-5E-Transitional Care Unit, Part-Time (0.5 FTE), Evening/Nights, every other weekend & some holidays Administers care that is individualized and is consistent with the plan of care and with standards of care/practice (Reports to RN any change in patient condition, administers medications, functions independently, within area of practice); Demonstrates clinical skills for work area (completes unit specific skills/competencies; Demonstrates knowledge of normal growth and development in the delivery of care; Incorporates patient/family/significant other teaching into routine care under the direction of the RN; Adjusts work routine to meet changing unit and patient conditions; Fosters team building spirit (assist new staff members integration into the team; Contributes to plan of care, as well as implementation of plan; Maintains a safe working environment; Fosters a positive public relations with patients, families and staff. Medication administration, obtaining vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKG's, hands on nursing care and some heavy lifting required. Current CPR, 1 year post licensure nursing experience preferred.
